Title: Unix FreeBSD Systems Administrator Department: Technical, Oregon City or Remote Access Summary: Administer ChatUSA Internet direct connections to the Internet backbone providers ensuring optimal configuration and performance. Configuration of Livingston, Adtran, ISDN, Apache web server, Amanda, Send Mail programs & equipment plus other telecommunications equipment. Knowledge of popular services such as news and email. C, Perl and Shell programming in the UNIX environment. Personal: Ability to interact with staff and customers at both a technical and "lay person" level in relation to technical issues. Ability to diagnose and solve problems, learns quickly and adapt to unfamiliar technical environments. Ability to work unsupervised, and completes tasks. Perseverance and initiative. Educational: University degree in computer science or equivalent. Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
